A Joyful Procession

This is the beginning of a new writing endeavor.  I have always thought about starting a blog that weaves together my great love for the outdoors, hiking, camping, and traveling with perspectives from my spiritual life.  Well, I suppose that this is the beginning of that pursuit.

This blog will offer pictures and descriptions of hiking trails and backcountry camping along with insights and perspectives of the beauty and glory of creation and how all of that impacts my faith.  I don’t suppose it will always be equally balanced, but I hope you will be inspired and educated by what you see and by what you read in my posts.

I will close by offering one of the greatest biblical passages that I think of every time I hit the trails and get lost in the backcountry:

So you’ll go out in joy, you’ll be led into a whole and complete life. The mountains and hills will lead the parade, bursting with song. All the trees of the forest will join the procession, exuberant with applause.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you and hearing your thoughts and feedback.
